WHAT DO THE NUMBERS MEAN?
The numbers at the top of each formula are three of the six primary macronutrients for plants: NPK, or nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). The numerical values represent the percentage of the blend’s weight made up of N, P and K.
WHAT ARE THE OTHER THREE MACRONUTRIENTS?
The other three nutrients are carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, which plants get from air and water.
ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL NUTRIENTS?
There are intermediate nutrients like calcium, magnesium, sulfur and a host of micronutrients.
